saturdays daily

4 of cups MI
2 of cups MI
Universe MI

I had a but if a morrisey evening last night, very 4 of cups, and feeling miserable for myself and having an apathy for all the stuff I have and need to do. This morning I feel a bit ARGH wasted time, but hey ho.

2 of cups, how interesting to see 2 cup cards after a week of mostly blooming pentacles its nice to see something different. :)

And Universe, about that within and without feeling, of deep connection. Perhaps with the 2 of cups I'll have a moment of that connectedness with the World.

Interesting cards :)

PDR reading with TT

This is a reading with Onyx's spread to review a PDR and see where its going. Its one I've done before when I working with the DPO, but I havent done it with the TT yet!

Although there is the possibility of drawing more than one card a position, I dont want to confuse the picture. so I'll draw one card each position, and then see what the CI will be (although a bit jumbled as its more cards than my usual 3!).

*2***4*
***3***
*1***5*

Position One: How am I progressing with my PDR?
Position Two: Why do I need to do this PDR?
Position Three: What problem am I facing with my PDR?
Position Four: Where do I need to focus on developing in my PDR?
Position Five: What can I gain from this PDR?

Position One: How am I progressing with my PDR? 4 of wands
Well I feel me and the TT are getting on famously! There is that gateway feeling, an attraction that was so strong that meant even my DPO knew that it couldnt compete. Whilst I love decks like the Deviant Moon, I couldnt read with it every day as its special charm will be gone. The TT however is someone I can talk to everyday, share the mundane and profound together.
Em has in the book about the figures making a house, but I see it as gateway with a roof over, security, foundation and a joining of where we've been to where im going, with the TT at my side :)

Position Two: Why do I need to do this PDR? 4 of pents (mi)
Why does anyone need to do a PDR, to spend time on one deck more than others, to just get a good developing relationship. Its not a selfish gripping on to one deck like an Intensive Deck Study (or what was once known as a One Deck Wonder when I did it years ago with the Druidcraft). Its something that allows for a bit of sharing.
Also, I think it can refer to my deck buying that when through a crazy period not too long ago (4 decks in less than week is going some!) and I feel the 4 of Pents is asking me what exactly do I use tarot for, why do I go made and collect? Why do I see a deck that I know its currently 'hot' and go OH I MUST HAVE. Its just not good for me. Its about the materialistic vs the spiritual.
Also, it could highlight that I started with the TT in preparation for the TO being released, and its making me realise that the TT is a fabulous deck that I have spent time with to learn properly.. for its own sake, not coz of the new deck.

Position Three: What problem am I facing with my PDR? 5 of swords (mi)
hmm this stumps me..the figure here has mostly shattered swords around him, and hes picking at one. Its almost like he's mourning the loss and not happy with the one sword he has left.
Ya know, this might be about me feeling Im rubbish at reading the TT. I really admire Emily Carding, how she created such an inspiring deck and she sees such fabulous things in the CIs that Im only just learning to see. And well, I guess I get a bit self-defeatist about it all. I mean, I'll be crap so why do I bother kinda thing. This is such a stupid perspective to have, but its one thats there deep down, and im slightly embarressed to even put it here on the screen. BUT gotta be honest.

Position Four: Where do I need to focus on developing in my PDR? Ace of Pentacles (mi)
Just being practical, doing readings, working and playing with the deck..letting the symbols speak to me.
It could also reflect a new posession of the TO when it comes out ;)
Also, a relationship with a deck builds over time, of practical application etc. Not just the 'one' you can read instantly from the box and give spellbinding readings with. I know this takes hard work, but its a lesson I seem to need to focus on and relearn. The start of something new if I work at it, nurture it.

Position Five: What can I gain from this PDR? Knight of Pents (mi)
Its about being slow and steady, going forward and keeping using the deck. Learning and exploring through practical application. I feel that sometimes with the DPO, that I was focusing on the magic of the plants that I wasnt reading it, so it made it difficult to read for every day type subjects, yet brilliant for magical/dream ideas.
So this is something more giving, more to do with working...

The base card was Judgement the phoenix from the flames. And the TT is a deck resurrection for me. I bought this deck when it was published, and was EAGER to play with it, but I got distracted by other decks that appeared. I did my usual flash in the pan kinda NEW DECK glee and then it got put at the bottom of the pile when another new deck appeared and appeared. Which is something I am curbing right now because I know my addiction is getting too far.

Looking at the CI I can see all the figures in the right of the card, apart from that 5 of Swords, and I feel thats just my regret really I couldnt have done more with my DPO when I was PDRing with it. I wanted to do loads of meditations with the plants etc. But I need to let that go, or put that idea on a shelf for another day if its important.

The CI makes me look positive at all the lessons and learnings coming to me. I feel perhaps the TT will be a PDR for a while, with or without the TO! And thats surprising to me.

Daily today :)

Today I have drawn King of Pents (mi), Knight of Pents (mi) and Ace of Pentacles (mi) 3 pents in one day :)

I have decided to sell a few of my decks (those that know me have well justified gasps as this is never a decision I make lightly and often put it off and off some more until even I think I have too many decks in my collection). So its about being careful with money. The King could reflect the sensible side of this decision, the Knight if he represents a challenge is to not spend it instantly on another deck (every though I really REALLY want to!).
The Ace of Pentacles is saying, ya know, that money could be important for a rainy day. Just, put it in your pocket and see what occurs. So the goal is the Ace saying, your selling decks to save money, so damn well save it woman

Even though the Heart of Faery is singing its siren song to me (must resist.. for a while longer anyways).

All the pents seem to keep saying GO OUTSIDE to me.. so I think I'll go for a wander later on, or at least just take in the air and breath in the trees :)

Thursday, 25 March 2010

its thursday and Im still doing dailys

arent I a good girl!

Todays cards are Star, 6 of Pents (si) and 9 of Pents (mi) and I did shuffle the cards thinking about Gift/Challenge/Goal as in the TT book.

The Star to me is about a continuation of energy. Its about feeling the divine spark within and from that, just letting all of the usual 'ick' that we bog ourselves down with in life just float away coz its just not important. It was a true gift that I have received and I hope I can pass that on in some way.

6 of Pents could reflect the challenge in giving it.. to really offer those pentacles that we keep so close to us (the 4 of Pents yesterday). But, I havent had anything so far today to suggest a sharing.. but we'll see :)

Seeing the 9 of pents tho makes me wonder if I just need to accept the gift I have received and enjoy it? I've got a wonderful thing called an afternoon off, and Im stuck with what to do with it. Yes I could do uni work, but I havent anything pressing to do, and I could just sit back with a book and chill...But I think I might do something creative, earthy with all these pentacles around.

Pretty cards tho! That Star really brings me close to tears at what it represents, this feeling I have inside that is of light and love (yes pass the fluffy bunny sick bucket) lol.

filmstrip daily

Day 3 of the daily challenge.Nearly slipped up!

This evening I have pulled Page of Pentacles, 4 of Pentacles, Queen of swords all in SI

In the filmstrip the Page and the 4 of pents are covering eachother. Its like a childhood storing away of 'treasure'... I sometimes have an issue with letting go of stuff, getting bogged down with it all and too scared to just RELEASE. I like to hold on to stuff, even if it makes me miserable. Im odd lol. Yesterdays cards i feel reflect that, and tonight I had thought about doing a reading and going deeper into that icky black pool, plunging deeper into its self loathing and selfobession...

But the Queen of Swords, has her sword in her hand, and its like a golfclub.. she is ready to swing and just knock them way out of the sunset. LOL Letting go, just fly away.. and laugh madly at it :D Cut the crap, get on with it. Theres love it in, theres knowing its all for the good, but why not be mad as well?

Awesome stuff.

I think I heard someone today call me an insufferable know it all.. well, today I smile at that and go 'thank you' rather than getting all caught up in the insult and then clinging on to it and getting upset... I just let it slide lol.
The Page of Cups from yesterday I think is related here.. that feeling of insecurity etc that I get, needing a bit of awwww your love kinda treatment.. tonight I can smile and go 'im loved, I know it' and laugh about it:)

That Queen is a manic queen of laughter :D

Plants and Dreams

I had a dream the other night that I needed some advice on.. I drew two transparent cards and they just didnt get me anywhere.

And the dream was still bugging me.. So i decided to draw on my DPO, as they were always so reliable when it came to helping out dream interpretation. I got Primose and Fir Club Moss. Now, these 2 both speak of new beginnings, initiation etc.. and I thought 'well this dream had nothing like that in it' But, there was a refusal in the dream, a wanting to step away.

And it occured to me, that even in stepping away from something, a previous phase overtly is a way of demonstrating that Im ready to accept something new. As if the Gods were trying, in my sleepy dream like state, were testing me on what my true feelings were about a previous phase, and I made them known. So maybe this means something new and exciting will come?

Gotta love the DPO for dream interpretations.

day 2 of the weekly challenge..

Yes see here I am with day two

i've drawn three cards today again. 9 of swords, 2 of swords and Page of cups all three in SI.

9 of swords reflects a current bit of a phase for me, and its driving me nuts.

2 of swords seems really interesting. If it was in a 'normal' spread it would highlight to me as a reader that on way of dealing with the 9 of swords is to just sit, reflect and feel. See what is really going on and if things really are as bad as they seem or if im making mountains out of molehills (ok, thats obvious that I am because its the 9 of swords!)

The Page is interesting too. Shes running off with the cup, as though she has 'caught' that moment of intuition from the 2 of swords and has decided to run with it, and running far far away from the 9 of swords. To a place of peace and reflection. Hmmm

Looking at the CI, and its as though the two ideas of the 2 swords are the Page and the 9 of swords. I have 2 ways to deal with today, either go 'ARGH THE WORLD IS AGAINST ME' or I can just go with my intuition and run with it. Or even, the Page could reflect that I am being hypersensitive, which is causing the 9 of swords moments and so I need to just sit, find calm and see what I truly FEEL about something, rather than be paranoid or overemotional. Like Obi Wan says 'trust your feelings young luke' only, Im not a luke lol.

Hmmm yes, peace rather than paranoid or overemotional - yep.

Monday daily..

OK objective of this week is to do a daily reading every day.. just 7 days do a daily reading.. coz I get lazy and go 'ah i'll do it tomorrow' and tomorrow never comes.

Tonight to reflect on this day I have drawn with my TT

10 of swords MI,
High Priestess SI
4 of Wands SI

I love this card, this reflects my mood. Over the last few days I've been very 10 of swords. I cant describe way, but I have. Real fit of the Morriseys. First week back at uni, and other energy shifts have made me feel a bit clouded over.

However this is the last of it!

The High Priestess reflects that something I deep down KNEW was happening, really was happening. One of those moments when you just couldnt convince yourself of the depths of humanity and then you get confirmation. So its a message, a challenge to listen to my intuition that I work so hard to improve. Coz it was right

The 4 of Wands reflects how i've managed to put things back on a better keel. Dealing with the problem, listening to my intuition on a few things means that Im now in a better mindset. 'marriage' of things has happened and like the Gateway of Spring I am now dancing through the gateway in the wands card to all sorts of positivity! Its like the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace.. yes, lots of wee soldiers defending me.. hengwah!

The CI of these 3 really reflects this. The 10 of swords is in the far left corner, as if its heading into the past.. and now High Priestess and 4 of wands are key energies now, bringing intuition, strength, vitality and laughter into the mix :D

Funky stuff..
Love this deck!

And I feel like I'm stalking the Transparent Oracle facebook pages to see if theres any news on the TO's release!

Druid Plant Moon - 15th March to 14th April

well I know Im being Transparent, but I felt like I should pull a card for the lunar month we are currently in.

So to recap the moons this year have been
Madder
Chamomile
Vervain
And now we are in Lady's Mantle moon :)

Now this is unusual as its a very gentle plant. But it could be a way remaining grounded with the surge of energy that comes with Ostara and as we start to move closer and closer to Beltane. It reminds us to be open, to be receptive and be watchful of what happens, to balance out that raging spring energy that can be overwhelming, were we forget to just be still and watch, feel and absorb.
The time over the equinoxes are my favourite times in the year, and they are so quickly gone, like a child that all too quickly becomes an adult. So Im going to treasure it. And indeed I have been by getting a few sunrises under my belt already this year :D

Daily for today..

So heres my first proper daily with the TT as my PDR deck..

Gift - 9 of Cups MI
Challenge - 10 of Cups MI
Goal - Heirophant

And Temperance flipped out.

Okie, so today is about being kind to myself. All those cups are trying to get me to be kind and healing to myself, and perhaps trying to find that within my lovely family (or not!). I've had a lot of stress and selfimposed stress this week so this weekend is about chilling and being kinder to myself. Its almost as if the 9 of cups figure has picked one thing that makes her feel cleansed, healed, restored, even though she has so many things to pick from to make her feel like that :)

The Goal, Heirophant - tradition and togetherness.. watching rugby with my dad? Its something stable, reliable that can support the 10 of cups feeling in that me and my dad bond during shouting at the TV.
But perhaps its asking me to spend some time near a tree, the wisdom keepers of my own tradition.

Temperance I feel reflects that.. balancing the TV rugby shouting-ness with something that nurturing spiritually like a meditation by a tree. Something that takes away the stress and find a centre.. to be grounded and secure like the Hierophants tree.

New Moon Reading

Using Eowyn's new moon spread again, because it will be interesting to see the difference a turn of a lunar wheel brings to life!

***3***
***2***

1.- What lays on your dark depths. What is unseen. What we stumble against in the dark nights. Burdock
This being a card I dont draw very often I have to think about its symbolism to me..
Hmmm I did wonder if I was going to be 'alone' on my path for a while, but it seems I keep being drawn to attachments. People keep reminding me that I am loved, want to spend time and sacred time with me. Its fabulous! When you think your all alone in the wood you realise all the attachments you have, the people that love you no matter where you float off to in life.
And its so easy to forget that. Of course its imporant to keep an eye on who we have in our lives, unnecessary and draining attachments are not good.. but love is love!

2.- What will begin to show, to arise. The Banes
The full moon in this card really says to me that this will happen close to the moon. Yet I admit I am stumped on this card and this reading. From Burdock which was so positive, Banes seem somewhat negative. Ive drawn a clarifier and got Fern so this is saying its something out of the blue, its a shock to the system... a surprise...
I dont tend to like surprises LOL.

3.- What will illuminate the dark path. The key in the night.Flax
Well, whatever the unexpected will be, it will be something that can be worked to create something of beauty, like the humble flaxplant that becomes linen, which becomes the shirt on your back etc. Hmm ok beauty is not the word but beauty in its simplicity, its earthiness.

Its like the attachments in Burdock are reflected in the Flax as a web of love, of deep connections. Ones that arent easy to break. I have these in my life but to think I will be blessed with more in life is wonderous!

0.- Yourself. Shadow card, from the base of the deck.Comfrey,Rx Was surprised to see it Reversed because I dont usually have reversed cards in the pack. In the book it mentions about being loved yet not consumed in love, of finding my-self, in all the interconnectedness.

With going back to school today I have wondered if I will have all the time for all the things I want to do this year. Camps, meet ups with friends etc, tarot work, spiritual work etc. So I feel that sometimes its about balance, of being bloody elusive and not commiting completely to one or two things or ideas to make room for the things that are steadfast in my life.

Hmmmm... ya know, sometimes these plants just dont 'give' a lot in readings.

I think Im having a realisation here with this humble deck that my PDR experience with it may be coming to a close... wow, is this my attachment? My blot out of the blue? My connection and that to love something sometimes you need to give it freedom...

Wow - I am going to end my DPO PDR. It has been a very deeply healing process, a great deck of reflection, but ya know, I think its time to move on, and its a process that has been happening although I didnt want to admit it aloud, as I have been playing more with other decks like the DM and the TT.
But I love this deck. I love the healing, the insight and power it has! Although its not my primary deck, I will keep using it when I need to draw on its magic in my life. And I'll keep doing my Elemental herbs when I feel drawn to.

Wow.. Stir the cauldron of the Goddess in her Darkness and awen spits out... inspiration that changes and brings chaos and in that awareness. Eyes WIDE open.

I feel sad.. but its not farewell, merely adeiu.

TABI conference

Hi folks!

I've just booked tickets to the TABI Tarot Conference :D Im so excited I could wet myself! I'll train it in each day I think, but thats not a major hassle and its cheaper than booking a room which I wouldnt be able to afford.

If you dont know about
TABI, it stands for Tarot Association of the British Isles its a lovely warm community that supports people learning about tarot (which we always are right?) and sharing in the joys on the path. Theres training schemes and everything.

Ohh im excited now!!

see through plants

Ok im still inspired by the TT and DPO.

Todays DPO card is Wheat and todays glorius sun shine is just as magnificent as the sunshine on that Wheat card! Love it! Today is a day of rugby, so perhaps the 'community' edge of Wheat will reflect that its a daddy/daughter day infront of the TV shouting at sexy men (although, I dont think my dad would fine them sexy!).
Also.. yesterday I did LOTS of work on some projects, so hopefully I can enjoy a chill day, most of the wheat as been gathered in, so time to kick back and enjoy a day off.
But also to have sacred moments in all that - like this morning just singing to the sun, feeling the waves of light hitting my face and radiating my being, lifting my energy level till i go LAA ITS SPRING!

TT cards are..
King of Cups So theres that nurturing energy. Funnily enough when I was thinking of doing my nurse training the King of Cups followed me everywhere, every reading I did for someone or myself he was there going 'ya know what i'm telling you' LOL. So perhaps he's reminding me that come monday I need to shift my priorities back into my nursing brain.

9 of Pents In the CI the King and the relaxed lady of the 9 of pents are facing eachother, their arms linked it seems in a toast.. so I think this further adds weight to the interpretation of 'school on monday, be relaxed today because its all changing on monday!' and also, I worked hard on my 'paper work' of other projects yesterday so maybe its time for a rugby day :D

6 of Pents MI This is a MI or mirror image that i drew, and in the CI this character is outside of the link of the King and the 9 of pents... So perhaps its reminding me that although I can have a relaxed day, that I have obligations, other projects that need my time too.
Also it could be a hint that I need to get a mothers day present LOL.. If I think of Emilys Gift/Challenge/Goal spread then yes, today my goal is to get a prezzie! And watch the rugger LOL

I'll post up the scans later as Its sooooon to be kick off :D

Daily draw for today, a transparent plant again

well I had such fun yesterday I decided to draw another three TT cards and play with the image of that and the DPO.

So, what do I need to know?

Gift - Queen of Swords
I've had a really nice day to put some thought into some of my intutive stuff, and intuitive stuff into my thoughts and 'book' learning. I had such fun this morning playing with the Elemental herbs of Fire, and really got into it. I moan to myself that I need to learn more about plants and then lots of stuff flows once I start typing.

As, there was an opportunity that open to me yesterday that I need to spend some time on, but my intuition doesnt want to do that today, so Im listening. It might change its mind in the middle of the night (as so happens!).

Also, I think she reflects that sort of 'tough love' aspect that I had to struggle with this morning. We have mice and last night I managed to capture 2 rather humanely. However they either got back in or we have a bigger problem than we anticipated, but I then gave in and had to set down the traps and I found 2 more dead mice in the traps this morning. Now, how druidy ethical is that? BUT, they carry disease, and if we have a big problem we are just circling the mice round and about. So this morning i was a brave girl, warrior womanesque and respectively picked them out the traps, and put them in a hedgerow for some other creatures dinner. Cycle of life.. detached and cruel? Yes I am be, but Im protected my family, my dog and my tarot decks in my room! Gotta bring the 'swords' out when it comes to saving the decks LOL.

Challenge - 8 of pentacles
Trying to find time for everything? LOL to integrate it all and getting everything to harvest at the same time. I have lots of continuing studies but I dont feel overwhelmed by it at all like some people might do. Its like Ive got carrots, potatoes and parsnips in the same field growing.
But I do like to make everything FIT into a box. The shape of the pentacles remind me of the Kabbalah.. maybe its challenging me to fit THAT in with everything else all in one day.
Crazy TT! But I like it!

Goal - King of Wands
Interesting how we have air/water and now fire/fire the reading. Along with the pentacle we have a very balanced set of cards for the day! Intriguing.
So, I dont think the King is reflecting anyone in my particular day today.. so it must just be a card to reflect my happy, relaxed, inspired and confident aspect of me :) OH ive just had a thought about who he could be, but I dont want to say, hehehe OK TT Ive got a hint, I might have to change my plan of action to weave what you think will be good for me today :D
Sorry to sound mysterious, but hehe.

Today I decided to pull the cards together in a filmstrip, but I'll scan them as a composite as well as you can see how a layout might bring a different interpretation.

My blessed DPO card of the days is Comfrey, and the first thought I had when I saw it was my friend wanting the dead mouse bones to add to her collection of DEAD THINGS!! Bloody ovates eh? ;) Theres an essence of doing whats necessary with Comfrey, like to fix broken bones you have to cause more pain to get the brake to align properly so the bone fuses in the right place.
Hmmmm heres an idea in the reversed bit of comfrey it talks about something interesting "To live happily and effectively in the world we need to somehow tread the path if both surrending to something greater than ourselves.... [whilst] sensing ourselves as unique, seperate and responsible individuals."
Now is that the DPO telling me to get a life?! LOL But Im so inspired and loving all my current 'workings' plus its the last proper day of my holidays. Tomorrow I will be in my revelry watching /shouting at the Rugby :P

So heres looking at the TT on its own as a filmstrip

Now see, its like the 8 of pents is nestling in between the two.. that the Gift and the Goal are all part of the Challenge. Although the figures are facing away from eachother, theres a sense of working together, like they have 'got my back' as im busy doing the 8 of pents thang..

Now the composite image, which I didnt feel drawn to day looks like this...

Now that to me says the same sort of thing as the filmstrip, but its really clogged up and busy and it could almost show that the Queen and King are actually overwhelming the worker in the 8 of pents. And that isnt how I feel at all.
Also, comparing the filmstrip to the composite, and theres a very different flow of energy. In the filmstrip its like the 8 of pents is in the protective energy, in the womb ready to be born, the fusion of ideas and action into something physical and productive.
Whilst the Composite looks like its trapped, stuck inbetween the two, like a prisoner... and not going in the right direction at all.

Hmm pondering..

So what happens when we add the filmstrip and Comfrey together...

how fab is that! That the comfrey plant seems to be like the 8 of pentacles, that the fusion of the Queen of Swords and the King of Swords will happen. Now that is funky!
What really stands out for me in this, is a fusion of Above and Below, of intellect and the mind and deep instinct and energy, of the Queens upward sword, ready to fight and the Kings Wand that he uses casually, but you know his weapon isnt to be sneered at ;) (Too much beltane energy LOL)
Theres a Sacred Marriage type feeling looking at it like this.

Ive been having a few God and Goddess type encounters recently, and looking at this I can see that Goddess and God energy supporting, nurturing, and then Comfrey showing that Im fixing something that was lot 'fractured' and needing to be put right. It means my brain fries at the moment but there is a feeling of union and unity that is flowing
I did an overlay of the composite and Comfrey, but it looks crap, in comparison to that wee piccy there.

And to think I'll get the TO in on the act as well soon!

Squeeeeee

Elemental Herbs - Fire

This my next installment of plants and the elements :D If you want to see what I think of plants and the element of air click here.

So, Fire, suit of wands, the phallic wand of the magical weaponry. Fire is an element that is often seen to us a gift, or a skill stolen from the Gods. Whilst Air is given anyways, Fire is something that needs skill to obtain like in the stories of Prometheus or about the Grandmother Spider. Its like our DNA can remember a time before fire, that mystery, that fear within us of being without it. Fire is the wildness, the deep instinct within us, and these stories reflect how we have tamed and domesticated ourselves for without the ability to create and control fire we will lack heatsources independent from the Sun, the ability to cook things, to take charge of our environment. There is the fire and heat of war, of blood boiling in anger and rage, the passion to control a land, a country, a region - the Emperor complex! Yet it is also the hearthfire, the heart of the tribe that gather around a fire and share stories and songs, sacred time together. Its can be a sacred fire that we burn old habits on like at Samhain, or a quickening fire of Beltane that gets the energy up the root chakra as we jump over the fires.Fire is of sex, lust, fertility, virility and passion - the Phallic God!

Fire is also consuming. Many people associate Fire with Swords rather than wands, because to them it makes no sense that the weapon of Fire would be consumed by it. But Fire and wands work for me. Yes it can be consumed, but prepared in the proper way a wand can be a torch, a light bearer, bringing light into the darkness. Plus, a wand is more phallic like than a sword (unless you have a small and pointy penis, but moving swifty on!).

Fire is energy, that tiny spark from chipped flints can bring the biggest fire you ever see. A small cigerette can spark a forest fire, or the fires that were burning on Bodmin Moor the other day. It brings life, it burns to revitalise the land so new things can grow like a Phoenix from the flames.

So here are the DPO plants that are traditionally associated with Fire
Betony There is alot about this plant and expressing your fiery nature. We need to express how we feel, passionately sometimes, to be able to let the fire burn into a rage and then burn itself out. Its like that feeling when you need to shout to just get it off your chest. If you repress this desire then the fire will smoulder within you and will eat you up, you are in effect burning yourself. Or even worse, like a burning ember smouldering into your personality, into your relationships and can be very destructive. Betony reminds us that conflict is important for your souls, but so is conflict resolution too, the 'making up' bit ;)
It has a lot of healing properties, like an 'all-heal' but perhaps it works on going to war with the illness/bateria/infection, strengthing our ability to fight off the nasty in our bodies.
And I imagine a very powerful plant to use for negative energies that need a real kick up the arse to bugger off!

Flax
At first thought I struggled to associate Flax with Fire. As someone who is a bit of a spinner and knitter and understand the processes involved with creating linen from flax, I thought hmmmm. Then I thought about me harvesting the flax, getting the fibres from the plant and then spinning it, and weaving it into cloth.. ARGH. It would feel like waging war on my poor spindles or spinning wheel! LOL The amount of energy, of determination, of skill needed for that whole process - I do not have it thats for sure! Yet it created a cloth that was lightweight, durable, strong and verstile, so I can understand why the ancients would have perserved. And they did from across the world, ancient egypt, to Babylon, the celtic and germanic lands and not to mention the times of Abraham and Moses for its even in the Bible! Like the need to create fire, humanity has always felt the need to use flax for cloth. So there is the connectedness of our spirits as humans, DNA in our cells that hold this mystery deep within its structure, but also of perserving, of driving force to tame the flax plant into something productive.

Garlic
I always think of vampires when I think of Garlic, be it Ramsons or Wild Garlic as the DPO card shows, or the stronger garlic bulbs in the dodgy vampire films LOL. Garlic's strong smell can be something very delicate on a springs day but in the deep wood on a hot summers day the smell can be strong and even too strong for people to take. Me, I love it!
Garlic is about power, power to preserve and protect what is yours, and in the vampire myths it was the most effective defence against those fanged creatures who wanted to drink your blood and own your soul. And what is more precious than your own divine spark within you? Its like the blood was just a way of sucking your soul from your body. Of course, its attractive to dabble in the darkside and be consumed by it, but its harder to fight, to resist temptation.
Like Betony it seems, its a power plant to be rid of negative energies or energies that seek to cause you harm. For even in Islmaic lore, garlic was said to spring from the footprints of Satan, like the land fighting off that contact with evil and cleansing it.
Because of its strong defensive and fighting energies, its a great preventative plant or supplement to our health. It is also good to take when you do feel under the weather to give your body a boost to fight off infections.
And of all, this is the Spear (gar) Plant (lic or leek), well, so says the DPO and the Herbcraft books ;)

Juniper
Theres a lot about this plant I associate with Air - but traditionally its about Fire so lets go with it :)
There is an essence of the 'phoenix from the flames' element to this card. Before we can fully live a new phase sometimes we need to really cut ties to the old one, and be ready to take flight, free and easy to fly.
Cunningham says that juniper has been used magically to increase male potency, as well as forcefully driving away nasty spirits.
Also, I think sometimes because of its ability to be active in the pursuit of justice and truth, Juniper is seen as more fiery - like it would do what needs to be done the end justifying the means, whilst if it was Air it would only seek to obtain truth and justice with more ethical methods.

Madder
Who could deny the deep red dye that comes from Madder as a plant of fire! The dye can even stain bones (when injested) as well as cloth. It is a plant of coming of age, of the quickening of the Root chakra, of instinct and of that transition from child to adult, and again from adult to elder. Its amazing that our bodies can withstand the activity of all those hormones on our bodies to bring us into maturity. Amazing stuff!
And so when rites of passage it also reflects strength and passion - because in rites of passage we are often challenged and fight adversity. This is where boys and girls become warriors in life and ready to use that spirit when necessary.
Madder can often reflect when we grow madder and madder in anger that we feel that we are going to explode. And if you remember my Madder Moon over the christmas/yule festive period. We love our families, but they can drive us to insanity and all in the name of that rite of passage of christmas and new year LOL.

Mandrake
Like moths to a flame, the mandrake attracts all your desires to you. Whether its fertility and children, gold, pain relief, healing etc the Mandrake will amplify your own energy into wishing for it and so often you get what you wish for! There are hidden desires in this plant, and sometimes we are led and then consumed by our desires like Midas was who wished to turn everything he touched into gold.
Sometimes our desires can be empty, like winning the lottery.

Nettle
Ah, Nettle, who can doubt its stinging leaves with fire? That feeling of the irritation on the skin, the scratching, the heat and blisters of the sting on the skin. But thats part of its beauty! Its a plant of quickening, of attack being the best from of defence because you'll think twice before you go and jump into a Nettle bed.
Theres a really fab poem about Nettles that I learnt as a kid..

Nettles by Vernon Scannell
My son aged three fell in the nettle bed.
'Bed' seemed a curious name for those green spears,
That regiment of spite behind the shed:
It was no place for rest. With sobs and tears
The boy came seeking comfort and I saw
White blisters beaded on his tender skin.
We soothed him till his pain was not so raw.
At last he offered us a watery grin,
And then I took my billhook, honed the blade
And went outside and slashed in fury with it
Till not a nettle in that fierce parade
Stood upright any more. And then I lit
A funeral pyre to burn the fallen dead,
But in two weeks the busy sun and rain
Had called up tall recruits behind the shed:
My son would often feel sharp wounds again.

Think that says its all :D

Other plants associated with Fire are..
Angelica - It is a plant that has strong associations with St Michael or rather the archangel Michael. In lore its a good 'counterbane' and seen to be a good aphrodisiac. Magically it has very strong connections to the Sun, to the curative effects of sunshine and banishing the darkness that ills you. A must for any fire incense or offerings at Summer Solstice and Beltane.

Basil a plant of the dead in the hope of resurrection (not just physical, such as safe passage through and after an initiation), that old Phoenix from the Flames energy again! Its a powerful herb of attraction, be it love, wealth etc. Its associated with Lughnasadh

Cinnamon naturally Cinnamon is about Fire and the Sun. I once learnt a story from a storyteller about an endless winter until a boy stole the precious cinnamon cakes from the evil witch and fed them to the dragon, and then Sun returned to the land! A tasty wee dance on the tastebuds is cinnamon. Magically used to raise energies and sexual energy, but not in an overpowering and consuming way.

Copal to be honest, all I know about this plant is from Cunninghams greenie book, that it is for love and purification. This site suggests burning copal releases energy that is all colours of the spectrum like a sunrise on a misty morning showing the rainbow. So I can see it being a resin to quicken all the chakras and let the Serpent rise!

Dragons Blood - if you need to add magical dynamite to your incense or herb pouches then add dragons blood. Its expensive as it only grows in East Indian Islands so its a very exotic plant energy. Its energy can be so strong it can help seperate the spirit from the self for astral projection and shape shifting. The only time I've added it into incense it caused peace and quiet to descend on my house, which is one of its magical propertites outlined in Cunninghams greenie.

Fennel for courage, stamina and beauty/physical attraction and adds energy to your lifeforce, and its said to increase your life expectancy!

Mullein a plant that was used as a portable torch by the romans and used as a candle in the Middle Ages, so obviously this plant was going to be associated with Fire. So it is a plant that shines the light on the truth, helps work out a mystery as well as adding courage to the mix. This dispelling darkness energy is probably why its good at preventing nightmares.

St John's Wort A plant of the summer solstice, for it said to be best harvested on St Johns Day, 25th June (those Christians liked their 25ths around the solstices eh?;). It yellow flowers are like sunshine. Its a powerful herb when dealing with depression as it will help you find a torch to light your way through the darkness. I also associate this plant with sexual potency and fertility for its one of a few plants that will negate the contraceptive pill.

Sunflower- How could I not include the glorious sunflower? Its flowers are great for the bees to produce honey, that amber nectar of the sun itself. Use it magically to radiant and grow to reach your own potential, a plant that I associate with Lammas, as well as the Summer Solstice.

Pennyroyal like Betony its a plant of expressing your passions, be it rather strongly against someone, and also the making up. Its the hammer of the forge to intensely hate and break down, and then to intensely remake and form better than ever. Pennyroyal strengthens resolve and also tummy upsets (tummy linked to the solar plexus?)

And Fire in the Ogham
Luis, Rowan - Its gorgeous red berries and sticky red sap are very much of fire. If Birch/Beith is the spark, then Luis is the moment when the flame catches its fuel and gets a roaring fire going, as if by magic. Its a plant of growing energy and reaching your potential via an adventurous spirit. I sometimes think of the Magician when I think of Luis, someone who is mad enough to try the effects of growing inbetween stones and on the edges of cliffs, roots clinging to stone.. its as though the tree exists on magic! Its mysterious and had a strength and determination of will like no other, to battle against adversity and win hands down.

Nuin, Ash - A tree of the spear and the arrow, for the some of the best bows were made from Ash (some welsh accounts suggest that Yew is the best tree for the bow as bows present a rain of death). There is strength of will, of the warrior spirit and defending what is important to you to the death. Ash is also linked to the World Tree in Norse mythology, and so is connected to our own part of the Divine Spirit, for the macrocosm is the microcosm, within is without.

uHathe, Hawthorn - Another tree of powerful red berries. Its blossom is the 'May Blossom' and to many it is the coming of the Mayflower that is the true indicator of the Beltane festival, not May 1st. Its a tree of sexuality and sensuality, of love and lust woven together. Its a tree that also has a fighting spirit, that if the God is to become mate to the Goddess he has to earn that prize and be prepared to woe and tantalise her libido first. Nothing is given that is not earned is part of Hawthorns magic.
Also, to me Hawthorne is about powerful blood ties of family. If you want to defend a sibling or relative then call on Hawthorn to aid you.

Duir, Oak - The All father tree, the king of Summer Solstice that loses his reign to Tinne, Holly and its hard to look at one tree without looking at the other. They are both great woods for the tribal fires, Oak will burn long into the night and Holly will produce a fire that is hot with burning embers. They are both trees of the Sun, of generousity of the sun's rays to make the crops grow, but also to keep us safe and our Spirits up during the dark half of the year. Yet both have fierce tempers, for Oak calls on Lightening and Holly brings on snow and ice that the Queen of Narnia would be jealous of! Both trees are of hearth and home and the Male Mysteries (which I am told are mysterious to the men!).

Onn, Gorse - What can bring a smile to your face more than gorgeous yellow Gorse blossom on what seems to be a bleak and dismal moor or highland. It has the ability to beat the blues like St Johns Wort. It has powerful abilities of attraction, like bees to the flowers, but be careful what you wish for for there are sharp spines on those bushes!

Transparent Plants

OK, no maybe not quite transparent plants.. but the DPO with the Transparent Tarot (TT).

As Im so EAGERLY awaiting the new Transparent Oracle to come out (oh when oh when will that be!) I thought I'd get used to playing with cards transparently with the TT. Its been ages since Ive used it for reading, and its been neglected and only gets brought out to show people how Tarot is a very exciting world, i mean, see through cards! Thats revolutionary!

When I was shuffling I was hopeing to keep the cards all in one order, so that I could turn the cards and have them all facing their proper ways, no flipping or whatever, but that didnt happen. The cards went ping out of my hands, they wanted to be mixed around so they are. I wont go into detail of the MI or the flipped images or not, but let the composite speak for itself.

OK so 3 card draw with the TT and a Plant Guide from the DPO..

Mind (mental) 6 of swords
Hmm looking at that boated figure, and I guess so far today my mind has been drifting like a boat on some still water. Just floating. I got really inspired by a friend of mine who asked me about tarot and Jesus, and that started a whole new train of thought from what I have been previously thinking.
A floaty day isnt a bad thing though, because Ive let ideas come forward that I havent really let forward, like using the TT and spending all day cleaning it lol.

Body (physical)High Priestess
Maybe its the doing what I feel inspired to do. This morning I had no inkling to open up my TT and play with it, but I felt the urge to go cleaning, to find my TT and think 'it could do with a clean' and from that sparked a very interesting conversation.

I suppose the floating free mind and listening to what my intuition just said to do has really given me surprises and new insights that I thought of before.

Spiritual -5 of swords
Hmm this I dont understand. I feel very positive and upbeat about my spirituality. I do my bits and pieces that are important to me, rituals, observances etc.
Theres an idea in the TT book that Em wrote 'it is a reminder that there is no need to fight those who do not understand or agree. The only person who needs to acknowledge and embrace your beliefs is you'(p161 TT book).
Now, that is an interesting idea, as even doing the TT in a reading today has made me wobble about what my DPO PDR is really about? Can I blog about it? Should I do it secretly on the forum and hope no one notices?
Ya know - Sod em.. its my blog LOL. And, I still have my DPO for reflection :)

Together the composite image of my TT draw today is interesting. The figure of the 5 of swords is lost in the words of a book, does it matter if Im inspired by books that I 'shouldnt' be? Or do I have to do things 'by the book' but who wrote the damn book in the first place? Me I think LOL. I do worry a lot about being a hypocrit, but if its my own rules I break it means Ive outgrown the ones I originally made.
Hey, why am I justifying myself? I only need to acknowledge and embrace this! But its nice to share :D
The 6 of swords is like its just on the edge of the cave entrance made by the cresent moon of the HPS. Is it going in or out? Sometimes I think I think too much lol

Its a nice composite.

And the DPO card? Meadowsweet again..
Hmm that same message is echoing around the place. Interesting... And I wanted to share the message that I got from last night, but you wouldnt believe me if I did tell you ;)

And if I overlay the TT composite with Meadowsweet I get a very interesting image. The cards seem to follow the plants stem in the card, from bottom right to top left, and theres the HPS moon that seems to sever the plant and the 2 minor cards. Its like theres a message - I need to march to the beat of my own drum.. not to worry about other people, to have an open mind to get the odd whisper from the Gods.

Funky stuff!

quick draw

Im off to the pub later, meet some friends I havent seen in a while. Where does the time go?!

Anyways, todays quick draw is Meadowsweet . I always have Damh's song, Oak Broom and Meadowsweet in my head when I think of this card. Infact, I'll put it on as I type !

SO... Meadowsweet, in the book it talks about celebration, of mead and enjoying shifts and transitions. And indeed we will, as the Moot will be at a different pub, first moot of the new year (coz of all that damn snow we kept getting) etc. So it will be very funky to see people :D

However I feel there is more here than the obvious. Those bees are looking at me as if there is a hidden message, but I cant see to work it out. Maybe there will be a 'message' of some sort that will be revealed tonight?

Hmmm, I'll get back this one.

Greeting up the sun..

The Magician from the Druidcraft Tarot... this larger than life character.. Sure hes got all his kit on, but no matter what he wears he is connecting to power, to that moment where its like the whole Earth is recreated as if it was that first dawn of creation...

I watched a sunrise this morning, something I know I should do more frequently... and wow, I was blessed with the most amazing sight and revelation.

So in honour of the Gods who kicked me out of bed, walked in the BLOODY COLD and got me to a field - I thank you.
In honour of the Sun in all its wonder of the sunrise I saw today - Thank you.
And to the Wrekin, who was the background to my blissful experience this morning, where the Suns rising was refracted in the most gorgeous way by the mists around that sacred hill - I thank you.

And in honour of the Wrekin, and the sunrise that the ancient Cornovii would have seen, heres a piccy of that big hill I can see from my window

The River is the Severn, you've got a side on view than I had of the sunrise that I saw creep over the back of the Wrekin.

Totally nothing at all to do with DPO... but, its my blog, I can blog what I like. Connecting to the sacredness of the world around me is part of what the Sacred Garden is all about.

Blessed Be

magical reading

OK..

So, ive got an issue (aint I always, always the one with the problem, thats me! LOL) and so I seek my DPO to shed some light on whats occuring :)

Q - Tell me about this blockage I have about ritual at the moment?
The spread is one Ive just knocked up.

-----4----
-----3----
-----2----
-----1----

Card 1 - the present, what my problem is? Borage
Im staring at that sword.. I think my problem is Im being too 'gentle'. The purpose of ritual is to make communion with the Gods, to work on realising the magick within and without and sometimes that means doing a bit of 'magick' of your own, be it a simple meditation and feeling the energies or chanting mumbo jumbo.
And... Maybe somewhere along the line I've forgotten that. I've got 'safe' too scared to take the sword out of the scabbard and prove my worth to the Gods and thats that are listening.
Ive just looked at the reversal meanings in the book - and it says about Rosemary and how sometimes we forget what is important...
well, I think I forgot something pretty important where ritual is concerned.
Why have I forgotten? Why have I become a bit too 'softly softly'? Folk that know me know Im nothing of the sort in ritual usually lol.

Card 2 - Why do I have this problem, whats the lesson? Plantian
Hmmm OK this is interesting.. I think its reflecting something important. Recently over recent weeks I've been doing more ritual indoors for a varity of reasons, yet for years nearly all my rituals have been outside, in places of power. So the environment is why.
But I used to do rituals indoors all the time... its never been a problem then.
Perhaps also, in the change of environment I have forgotten that even indoors is a sacred place, a part of nature for we are alive in our homes and so part of Nature, part of divinity, its not like the Goddess stops at the door and goes 'oh, no entry for me!' LOL.

So.. its place, its about what I think about that place... and then remembering what the ritual is there for, and that communion can happen anywhere, not just by trees or around sacred stones.

Card 3 - How do I overcome the problem/learn the lesson? Juniper
Ok, its a mind thing.. its about realising what is within is without and without is within.
Like the crane bag that holds all the magical items of Albion, I AM the thing that has all the magic inside me. Ritual is just a guise, a format to open up that connection and let it all shine through. But its nothing to do with place, what Im wearing (or not), its about perspective, about realising it all comes from within. Sod how recently the room was vacuumed lol.

Card 4 - Anything else to share and enlighten me? Chamomile
Chillax girl... So your getting your head around different ideas, different ways of working. But if you get stressed out that how are the words of the Gods meant to shine and flow through?
Be relaxed, be open, the details arent important (even if they are important to you) Im not going to 'prove' anything extra to the Gods if my heart and mind is not open to commune with them.

Wow DPO , your a legend :D

Reading for tonight..

2 cards i shall quickly draw, to see what i can see...
For tonight I am among the witches, for a chance of revelry..

LOL well, maybe not witches, but friends who cackle hehehe

So, I thought i'd draw a card of what opportunities are to be taken tonight, and what challenges there are..

Opportunities - The Guardians
Ohh interesting, I dont think i've drawn this card before.
So, they are the sustainers of lifes path, they guide it, they keep it ticking over. The rock that is in the water before the birchtree roots to me is looking at me saying 'ya know, there should be a faery sitting on that rock, peering close into the water'. I've got faeries on the brain with wanting to get the Heart of the Faerie Oracle lol. Maybe they are telling me I should get it (no, I dont really believe the Guardians card is encouraging deck buying. Although, home late at night from being out, Amazon 'one click' can be very dangerous!).
So, its about nurturing, continuing on with stuff and walking that extra bit on the road, knowing your loved, guided and protected.

Challenges - Yarrow
Ooooh that snake is looking at me saying 'you are naughty! You shouldnt read about these things, there is a magical process of not knowing'. OK so its nothing special, its seeing some friends and having fun, but obviously theres something more to it because the snake is looking at me 'trust the unfolding, trust the process'
Great - My yarrow snake has gone on druidy on me.

Ya know.. I think my DPO has got cheeky since it played with the DM! I think its a bad influence on it LOL.

ETA - I had a really extraordinary experience of kundalini energy that night, which is what the Yarrow was telling me and yet not telling me. I mean, it was so unexpected I wouldnt have believed it if the snake had rolled out of the card, spoke to me and crawled back in again! But then, if i had of known it was coming would I really have experienced it with an open mind? I shall see that snake stone with a new mind!
And the Guardians were holding me, guiding me, one extra step taken on the road..

Ah gotta trust them plants.

DPO meets the Deviant Moon, when my significant others meet

Having a wee moment wondering about this PDR business and the DPO. I feel that Im missing working with Tarot so much for my own reflections. I know the beauty of the PDR is that we can play with other decks, but, as the DPO is an oracle its just not tarot - even though its wonderful.

So... today I thought Id mix it up a bit. I want to know more about woad, about why it keeps coming up, what am I missing about this card?
Heres the 2 sides of woad.. the plant and the dye, the yellow that becomes the blue, the thought the becomes creativity, inspiration and Awen. I think these two pics are really powerful of what Woads energies are..

And I figured I could use the Deviant Moon to help me do that. DPO and Tarot fix all in one :P Using a Recurring card spread

****5****
4*******6
****1****
3*******7
****2****

Card 1 - the recurring card, in my case Woad
Yes I see the familiar face of the boar in the rock, the spear head, the ivy and holly, and the curl of a rams horm in the tree.
And of course the plant itself - that strong energy leading to so many things...
I know all this!! But I feel Im missing something, something more.
Last night whilst I was at a friends house I caught a glimpse of wild boar on the tv, and their CUTE tiny little piglets. Now, I dont really do 'cute' as such, but with their stripes I couldnt help it! But I wouldnt want to get caught in the line of fire of a wild boar.
Actually, maybe thats what people think of me? Small, cute sezo with a dark twist? Oh, Ive never thought of that before!

Now its time for the Deviant Moon to play (oh boy Im excited!).
As Im shuffling I can feel this world is a bit bemused by all this. 'I mean,' says the DM, ' plants are plants, they dont talk, they dont walk, they dont DO anything. Plus its dark in our realm, plants look like shadows, and not really interesting, until the moon shines on them and they sparkle in the frost. But they are ONLY plants', I think they will learn :D

Card 2 - what's underneath, the root cause - Sun
Oooh thats nice to see! Im doing a lot of work to bring out my potential, and so this is what Woad is about. The process isnt just one of kicking and screaming, but its like a mindset that is always open and ready for battle. Like old warriors that keep up with their training even in peacetime.
The Sun in the DM is about unity also, so Woad is highlighting how all my goings on are joined, steamlined and forming one path, one road :D

Card 3 and 4 - the past influences or fading energies - Queen of Cups and The World
The queen I think reflects how I try to keep so many plates spinning because I love them all so dearly. And sometimes, it can feel disjointed. Like now I feel the DPO and Tarot are two different things, yet with Woad I've worked a way of unity and bringing them into something new! Sometimes I do feel its an either/or situation, like if I start one idea I am 'betraying' the other (yes how daft is that!). I care so much for all that I have in my life, I love to have it yet loathed to put it to one side if I need to. And so I sit, reflect like the Queen does, worrying about the drop that is to be spilt and not the ship that is crashing into the rocks. I focus too much on the detail and not on where the undercurrents want me to go.
The World is showing that I'm processing this, that Im coming to an understanding of absorbing and doing, feeling and being that is part of it. I can see it all as part of me, of what I do, and not just one or another. No matter the label I give myself I am me that weaves all this together, and its all good. My opposing beasts of doubt and inaction have been tamed (mostly!) and I can now just go with my flow.

Card 5 - what the person knows or wants with regard to the card's issues - 4 of Swords
The figure looks like an angel, like a fairy thats been squished into the ground. But shes not, shes sleeping, shes in that process of fairy rebirth and will be even more beautiful than before.
And I think this is the really long term part of woad. Of forging things together, of making a mindset that is open and 'can do' about it all so that there will be a tiny yet significant change of mindset, of perspective.
When I first drew this card I thought I would need to drop something, or I will do something to force me to stop and I thought NO! I like this momentum, i love this bustling energy all around me.
So I drew another card to reflect what I now want, after looking at Woad some more, and drew the 9 of cups who says in a dodgy foreign Genie type accent Ah I have you now little one! You asked and wished and now I have you! Your wish is my command! The momentum will not stop, it will carry on, it will grow and burst like stars!
Ta Dm - I hope I wont regret that wish lol.

Cards 6 and 7 - what's to come or what will flow from it - 5 of Wands and 9 of Swords
AH CRAP I HAVE SO MUCH GOING ON IN MY LIFE, IN MY HEAD, IN MY BEING! HOW THE F*** AM I GOING TO FIT IT ALL IN? WHY DID I DO THIS TO MYSELF? WHAT SHIFTS AND FAN SPREADING 'FUN' WILL IT BRING?
Those are the DMs words on it exactly. But then the Sun comes out and says.. hey, its all good, its for a reason, you love it, its part of you. Of who you are... now stop worrying and just dance and let it flow!

When I stop and think, I panic, I freeze, I doubt and that is not what Woad is about. It says now is the time to just focus and do - it works, dont work out how or why, just accept and learn.

Dancing Bear did a DPO reading for me, and I think her Chamomile/Bramble advice is really imporant here too. To pick the fruits you have to go through the thorns, yet sometimes you need to sit back and drink some tea to work out how to do it, with a plan :D

DM base card for this was the King of Wands Oh yeah , he looks like he needs woading up, the 'just do it' man of the deck, the seducer of the pack to make you do it and love every second of it, even the odd twinge of guilt, because you've done something thats made you alive. How many people are alive with their eyes wide open?

Too true Sire!

And because its the first day of my holiday, and I want to, heres a piccy of the reading :)
